About The Position

HOUSTON, TX (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY) – A warm and active family in West University is seeking an exceptional PART-TIME WEEKEND NANNY to support their two children, a 12-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son. The family is looking for a dependable, energetic, and engaging caregiver who can be a steady, positive presence in a busy household. Their daughter will be entering 7th grade and is a competitive horseback rider who travels frequently for competitions. Their son will be entering 2nd grade and has severe ADHD. He is typically not medicated on weekends. He is bright, sensitive, and very active, and thrives with a caregiver who is both loving and firm. He can sometimes resist transitions or tasks, so the family is seeking someone patient who can provide structure and clear boundaries while gently encouraging him to stay on track in a positive and supportive way. The primary focus of the role will be their son, though the nanny will occasionally assist with their daughter when Mom is spending time with him or managing other activities. Weekends in this household are busy, and the nanny will often tag-team with Mom to ensure both children can get where they need to be. Their son participates in activities such as indoor climbing, Code Ninjas, fencing, soccer, and Cub Scouts, and the nanny should be comfortable accompanying him to activities and participating in Cub Scout outings beginning in the fall. The family is looking for someone who is organized, energetic, friendly, and someone children genuinely enjoy being around. An active nanny who enjoys engaging children, encouraging outdoor play, and keeping kids moving would be an excellent fit. Responsibilities include driving the children to and from activities using the family car, supporting the children’s weekend schedules, preparing simple, healthy meals for the children, and occasionally preparing basic meal components (such as spaghetti, eggs, or sautéed vegetables) that can benefit the family as well. The nanny should also be comfortable supervising swimming. The family has three dogs and three cats; however, they have dog walkers and daycare in place and only request occasional help with the pets if needed. The home is well supported with twice-weekly housekeepers and a dedicated laundry professional. The schedule for this position is Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with 20 hours guaranteed each week. The family is seeking someone stable, dependable, and warm who will become a trusted and supportive presence during busy weekends. Candidates must be comfortable signing an NDA, have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and be comfortable around pets. Experience working with children with ADHD or neurodivergent children is strongly preferred. Compensation is open, DOE and paid via payroll, depending on experience, and includes paid sick days, holidays, and vacation. The start date is ASAP.
