About The Position

A welcoming family in Vernon, Connecticut, is seeking a warm, engaging part-time nanny to care for their 20-month-old child. The family values age-appropriate engagement and fun learning activities. The home is smoke-free and has one dog; the caregiver must be comfortable around pets. The schedule is 1–2 days per week, with Fridays required and the second day flexible, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There may be an opportunity to add days or hours in the future. Compensation is $21–$23 per hour, commensurate with experience, with mileage reimbursement or a gas stipend for work-related driving. Candidates will be subject to a background check and must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. The caregiver is hired directly by the family and is not employed by Wellthy.

Requirements

Have a driver's license and reliable personal transportation for commuting and potential local outings.
Be able to safely perform essential physical duties associated with toddler care.
Be comfortable around pets.
Provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
Submit to a background check.

Nice To Haves

Experience caring for children aged 1–2 years.
CPR certification or willingness to obtain it.
Openness to outings to local, age-appropriate activities such as the park, Little Gym, and storytimes.

Responsibilities

Provide attentive, interactive care for a toddler.
Plan and engage the child in age- and developmentally appropriate activities, such as crafts and storytime.
Prepare and plan meals for the child.
Support daily routines, including diaper changes.
Perform light housekeeping related to the child, including meal cleanup and the child's laundry.
Be open to taking the household dog out once during the day; this is not strictly required.
Be open to driving the child to local, age-appropriate activities such as the park, Little Gym, and storytimes.
