About The Position

Jovie is hiring full-time and part-time nannies to provide childcare for families throughout Chicago’s Northwest and West suburbs. Caregivers may be matched with a family for a consistent schedule or provide temporary and backup care, with placements based on experience, scheduling needs, and location. The work takes place in families’ homes and may involve caring for infants, toddlers, or school-aged children. Nannies should be prepared to commute up to 45 minutes for regular and fill-in assignments.

The position offers pay of $18–$22 per hour, based on experience and placement, flexible scheduling, and support from the Jovie team. Health and vision insurance are available after 30 days for employees working at least 30 hours per week, and 401(k) matching is available after six months of employment. Paid time off, direct deposit, and the ability to access pay before payday are also offered.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of childcare experience.
• Provide three childcare references, including two professional-level references.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to different household environments.
• Willingness and ability to commute for up to 45 minutes.
• Full-time candidates must be able to be ready to work between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Part-time caregivers must have one weekend of availability per month.

Nice To Haves

• Professional childcare background, such as career nanny, daycare or preschool teacher, early childhood educator, elementary school teacher, or paraprofessional experience.
• Experience caring for newborns, infants, and toddlers.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing, and dependable childcare in families’ homes.
• Plan age-appropriate activities, crafts, games, and educational experiences.
• Support children’s developmental milestones through play and daily interactions.
• Transport children to and from school or activities when required by the placement.
• Follow each family’s household guidelines, routines, and expectations.
