About The Position

California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking candidates for a Part-time Lecturer Pool in the Department of Art & Design (Studio Art & Design). This position involves teaching within their discipline, potentially at all levels (foundation, beginning, intermediate, advanced, and graduate). Classes are offered in various studio areas including Ceramics, Glass, Imaging and Illustration, Installation Art, Painting, Performance Art, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Woodworking and Furniture Design, Video, and Special Topics in Art. Successful candidates will be able to teach across all levels of their discipline and work within the department’s scheduling framework, typically two class meetings per week on a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule. The role requires a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population, and to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students across a wide range of disciplines. The department focuses on visual and material literacy, critical and discursive analysis of art, design, and cultural productions, and encourages an open approach to understanding the contributions of art, design, and cultural production to diversity and community engagement. Requirements

  • Master’s of Fine Arts from an accredited institution in either a specific discipline or in general studio/ fine art.
  • Degree in hand by time of appointment.
  • Master of Fine Arts in an appropriate area, i.e. Studio Art, Visual Art, Design, or related field.
