About The Position

The Department of Secondary Education at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the Single-Subject Credential Program and Master’s Program. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • MA or MS or Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education or related field (depending on the program)
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a credentialed teacher of culturally and linguistically diverse adolescents OR 3 years equivalent experience
  • Committed to Just, Equitable, and Inclusive education
  • Knowledge of CSUF Single Subject Credential Program requirements (applicable to teaching courses in the credential program)
  • Experience implementing culturally relevant pedagogies
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with students from intersecting historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches and methods
  • Committed to ongoing professional development to maintain currency in the field, including effective use of technology

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience using anti-racist teaching and social justice pedagogies
  • Expertise in subject area disciplines and curriculum and instruction
  • Knowledge of CA K-12 content standards for subject areas
  • Bilingual or Biliterate or have experience working with bilingual/biliterate students
  • Experience supporting teachers, teacher candidates and/or new teachers.
  • Knowledge of CCTC Teaching Performance Expectations (applicable to teaching courses in the credential program)
  • Active in subject matter professional organizations

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the Single-Subject Credential Program and Master’s Program.
  • Implement culturally relevant pedagogies.
  • Effectively work with students from intersecting historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches and methods.
  • Maintain currency in the field, including effective use of technology.
  • Incorporate issues of Just, Equitable, and Inclusive Education (JEIE) into teaching materials and methods or research.
  • Share commitments to Just, Equitable, and Inclusive Education (JEIE).
