About The Position

The Department of Secondary Education at CSU Fullerton is seeking applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. They are looking for experienced and student-centered individuals to teach in the Single-Subject Credential Program and Master’s Program. This is a pool from which the department will draw as needed, and qualified applicants will be contacted when positions become available. Appointments from this pool are temporary and often made on very short notice, prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on short notice.

Requirements

  • MA or MS or Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education or related field (depending on the program).
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a credentialed teacher of culturally and linguistically diverse adolescents OR 3 years equivalent experience.
  • Committed to Just, Equitable, and Inclusive education.
  • Knowledge of CSUF Single Subject Credential Program requirements (applicable to teaching courses in the credential program).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with students from intersecting historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches and methods.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development to maintain currency in the field, including effective use of technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience using anti-racist teaching and social justice pedagogies.
  • Expertise in subject area disciplines and curriculum and instruction.
  • Knowledge of CA K-12 content standards for subject areas.
  • Bilingual or Biliterate or have experience working with bilingual/biliterate students.
  • Experience supporting teachers, teacher candidates and/or new teachers.
  • Knowledge of CCTC Teaching Performance Expectations (applicable to teaching courses in the credential program).
  • Active in subject matter professional organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the Single-Subject Credential Program and Master’s Program.
  • Implement culturally relevant pedagogies.
  • Effectively work with students from intersecting historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches and methods.
  • Maintain currency in the field, including effective use of technology.
  • Support teachers, teacher candidates, and/or new teachers (preferred).
  • Engage in subject matter professional organizations (preferred).
