About The Position

The Department of Counseling at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the following subject areas: Counselor Education/Professional Clinical Counseling, and Marriage and Family Therapy. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • A Master degree or Doctorate degree in Counselor Education or related field (e.g., Counseling Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy).
  • For Clinical Courses (e.g., Beginning and Advanced Practicum), candidates should hold a clinical license (LPCC, LMFT, LCSW, Licensed Psychologist).
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level.
  • Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Be available on very short notice.
  • Submit a complete online application with required materials.
  • Provide three letters of recommendation before official hire.
  • Provide official transcripts before official hire.
  • Be considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act.
  • Undergo and pass a satisfactory background check.
  • Disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years (after meeting minimum qualifications and before offer of employment).
  • Sign a release form authorizing the release of information by current and/or former employers concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct (if reaching final stages).

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the subject areas of Counselor Education/Professional Clinical Counseling, and Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Be available on very short notice for temporary appointments.
  • Participate in performance evaluations as per the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy.
  • Potentially have syllabi, assignments, and reading material reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
