About The Position

California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking part-time lecturers for its Department of Theatre Arts. This role involves teaching lower-division and upper-division undergraduate courses, which are typically 1, 2, or 3 units each. Courses are taught twice a week on campus during the Fall and Spring semesters (15 weeks each). Instructors are responsible for preparing their own syllabi, assignments, classroom activities, lecture materials, and grading rubrics, while adhering to department guidelines. Additionally, instructors will hold limited office hours to assist students with coursework, questions, and advice. Requirements

  • Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Arts, or a suitably related discipline.
  • Candidates with compensating industry experience will also be considered.
  • Degree in hand by time of appointment (MFA in Theatre, or equivalent/suitably related discipline).
  • Demonstration of teaching experience at higher education level.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all materials for teaching assigned courses.
  • Teach assigned courses.
  • Evaluate student coursework and grade assignments.
  • Hold limited office hours to meet with students for help, questions, and advice about coursework.
