About The Position

The Department of Elementary & Bilingual Education at CSU Fullerton is seeking applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Clinical Coach Pool. This pool is for experienced individuals interested in part-time teaching as a clinical coach for student teaching within the Elementary Credential program. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions become available. Appointments from this pool are temporary and may be made on short notice, often just prior to the start of an academic term. The need for part-time faculty is greatest during the Fall and Spring semesters, with occasional needs during Summer Sessions. Part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, with initial appointments lasting for one semester.

Requirements

  • Current or expired clear multiple subject teaching credential with 3 years’ experience OR 3 years’ equivalent experience working with preK-8 students in diverse settings.
  • Committed to Just, Equitable, and Inclusive education.
  • Knowledge of the current context of public schooling including the California adopted P-12 content standards, frameworks, and accountability systems.
  • Knowledgeable of Teacher Performance Expectations (TPE) and able to support candidate development pertaining to the TPE’s and TPA’s.
  • Knowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, ethnicity, and gender orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with students from intersecting historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches and methods.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development to maintain currency in the field, including effective use of technology.
  • Ability to use current technologies to effectively communicate and share documents with candidates and mentor teachers.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in education or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience using anti-racist teaching and social justice pedagogies.
  • Bilingual or Biliterate or have experience working with bilingual/biliterate students.
  • Experience with supporting teachers, teacher candidates and/or new teachers.
  • Active in subject matter professional organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical coach for student teaching in the Elementary Credential program.
  • Support candidate development pertaining to Teacher Performance Expectations (TPE) and Teacher Performance Assessments (TPA).
  • Effectively work with students from intersecting historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches and methods.
  • Use current technologies to effectively communicate and share documents with candidates and mentor teachers.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain currency in the field, including effective use of technology.
