Part Time Faculty for Professional Pilot Program
About The Position
Seeking an instructor for the Professional Pilot degree program, to begin August 2026. This role will teach AER 3010 - Certified Flight Instructor, Ground. This capstone course requires an applicant who can build upon the student's extensive Commercial Pilot knowledge by adding the instructional skills of a professional Flight Instructor. Strong emphasis is on the fundamentals of instructing and scenario-based training. Through the creation of weekly lesson plans delivering in the classroom with peers and in the broader community, the student builds confidence in their aviation knowledge and delivery. The student explores and understands their own learning and teaching styles and recognizes and supports individual learners. Concepts, techniques, procedural training methods, and adult learning is augmented with applied activities aimed at developing an efficient, effective CFI. This six credit course meets twice per week and should collaborate content with AER 3020 Certified Flight Instructor, Flight course.
Requirements
- Ability to build upon student's extensive Commercial Pilot knowledge by adding the instructional skills of a professional Flight Instructor.

- Ability to deliver instruction in the classroom.
- Ability to help students build confidence in their aviation knowledge and delivery.
- Ability to help students explore and understand their own learning and teaching styles.
- Ability to recognize and support individual learners.
- Ability to augment concepts, techniques, procedural training methods, and adult learning with applied activities.
- Ability to develop an efficient, effective CFI.
