About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg is seeking a part-time non-tenure stream instructor to teach one three-credit course, ENGWRT 0550 Fundamentals of News Reporting, for the Fall 2026 term. The course will be delivered in a hybrid format, with in-person meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to 5:15 PM. The instructor must be available for the entire term, from August 24, 2026, to December 4, 2026, with grades due by December 15, 2026.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in English (strongly preferred).
  • Evidence of directly relevant teaching experience at the University level.
  • Evidence of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated record of success teaching ENGWRT 0550 and related English and Creative and Professional Writing courses at the University level.
  • Submit a curriculum vitae.
  • Submit a cover letter.
  • Submit proof of teaching effectiveness in English Writing, Creative and Professional Writing at the University level.
  • Submit references.

Responsibilities

  • Teach one three-credit course, ENGWRT 0550 Fundamentals of News Reporting.
  • Deliver the course in a hybrid format.
  • Conduct in-person classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to 5:15 PM.
