About The Position

Portland Community College is accepting applications for a Part-Time Faculty Interest Pool in the Computer Information Systems Department at the Sylvania Campus. This pool is used to identify applicants for part-time faculty assignments as the need arises for new instructors. Applications may be considered for substitute or full-term class assignments. The department is looking for individuals who can teach courses within the Computer Information Systems program, and applicants will be asked to list the PCC courses they are qualified to teach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or STEM-related bachelor’s degree.
  • Four (4) years full-time equivalent non-teaching industry experience in the field.
  • For CIS 120, 121 and 122, instructor must have completed college-level algebra or higher Math due to embedded Related Instruction in Computation.

Responsibilities

  • Teach part-time faculty assignments in the Computer Information Systems Department.
  • Potentially teach substitute assignments as well as full-term class assignments.
  • List current PCC courses that you would be able to teach.
