About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) park land and sports facilities, outdoor recreation facilities, trails, and municipality-owned grounds. The role involves routine maintenance to specific projects or specialized areas at one or several parks or recreational facilities. Winter duties include litter collection, snow and ice removal, outdoor recreational ice maintenance, trail grooming and maintenance, special event preparation and support, and general grounds and facility cleaning and repair. Summer duties include turf and irrigation maintenance, litter collection, athletic and multi-use field maintenance, trail maintenance, park fence and barrier repairs, park shelters, amenities, and equipment cleaning and repair, special event preparation and support, and general grounds and facility care. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Three (3) months experience in lawn, landscape, trails, construction, grounds, or facility maintenance.
• Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
• Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
• Must provide their Union Dispatch Referral Form by the time of hire.

• Other duties as assigned.
