About The Position

The Parks and Recreation Attendant (Aquatics) provides operational and customer-service support for swim meets. Duties include preparing facilities and competition areas, coordinating hospitality and swim meet officials, operating concessions, managing spectator entry, and assisting athletes, coaches, and officials. Training is provided for electronic scoreboard operations. The role requires light physical work, including occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.

The schedule is rotating and may include weekends, holidays, and evenings, for up to 25 hours per week. Employees may also be required to perform incidental duties not specifically listed.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• CPR/AED certification.
• Experience running a swim meet.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electronic scoreboard setup and takedown.
• Assist with swim meet setup and breakdown, including timing equipment and facility preparation.
• Set up and take down team tents and hospitality areas.
• Coordinate swim meet hospitality, including placing food orders, managing delivery times, and estimating quantities.
• Operate concessions by processing food orders, managing stock, and handling cash and card transactions.
• Oversee spectator entry, including ticket sales and wristband distribution.
• Coordinate with swim meet officials regarding availability, schedules, and assignments.
• Prepare the competition area with lifeguards and security, including setting up signage, barricades, and designated parking zones.
• Provide general swim meet support, including supervising athlete areas, restocking supplies, and assisting officials or coaches as needed.
