About The Position

The Parking Facilities Senior Attendant works under general direction with a low level of intervention from their supervisor. This role requires extensive knowledge of parking facilities ticketing and security policies, procedures, and general safety practices involved in ticketing and enforcing parking rules and regulations. Incumbents act as lead workers over lower-level personnel, provide security, and complete related records. The Senior Attendant is responsible for acting as a lead worker to monitor and assist attendants during regular shifts and special events, troubleshooting issues, and directing, planning, scheduling, and assigning work. They also assist lower-level support personnel and external entities in problem resolution, maintain expert knowledge of office policies and procedures, inspect parking facilities for problems and hazards, and initiate problem resolution with leadership. Additionally, they assist drivers with vehicle problems, respond to complaints, coordinate and conduct training on parking lot procedures, enforce parking rules and regulations, monitor vehicles for authorization, collect fees, provide security, issue citations, direct visitors, and provide information to drivers. For special events, they direct parking and traffic, provide information and assistance, set up event materials, check lots for potential problems, and issue parking violations. They may also assist in minor equipment repairs and training new hires.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and compliance with university insurance policy.
  • At least a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience as a lead worker.
  • Experience in public relations.
  • A valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in parking facility operations and enforcement.
  • Experience in supervising staff and student employees.
  • Knowledge of automobile safety practices and procedures (e.g., jump starts, unlocks, gas transport, tire inflation, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a lead worker to monitor and assist attendants during regular shifts and special events to troubleshoot issues.

  • Assists in preparation for events and daily operations; sets up signs, cones, horses, and other related materials.
  • Checks parking lots and decks for prowlers, fire, water leakage, and other potential problems.
  • Assists in minor repairs to equipment.
  • Assists with training new hires.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and/or required.
