About The Position

Concord Parking, part of the Paladin Security Group, partners with the City of Edmonton to enforce parking regulations across city streets. This role is ideal for individuals who are physically active, detail-oriented, and confident in handling public interactions—including conflict resolution. New hires begin in Beat Patrol (foot patrol) with opportunities to progress into City Patrol (vehicle enforcement) and beyond. High-performing officers may advance toward Administrative Peace Officer Status and leadership roles such as Dispatch, Supervisor, or Team Lead.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (minimum 2 years driving experience)
  • Meet at least one of the following: 2 years post-secondary education OR 1 year enforcement/security experience OR 3 years supervisory/management experience (with conflict resolution) OR 5 years customer service experience (with conflict resolution)
  • Clean driving abstract (less than 3 demerits over 5 years)
  • Ability to walk 20–25+ km daily outdoors
  • Strong English communication (written and verbal)
  • Ability to write clear, detailed reports
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
  • Ability to pass TestGorilla assessment
  • Availability for full-time hours, including evenings/weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Education in Criminal Justice, Police Foundations, or related field
  • Experience in security, enforcement, or traffic control
  • Strong technical/computer skills
  • Experience with de-escalation and conflict resolution

Responsibilities

  • Enforce City of Edmonton Bylaw 5590 for non-moving vehicle violations
  • Patrol assigned areas (primarily on foot) in all weather conditions
  • Issue tickets and warnings for parking violations
  • Educate the public on parking rules and dispute processes
  • Work special event shifts (sports games, concerts, etc.)
  • Complete detailed reports (Daily Tag Reports, Incident Reports, etc.)
  • Communicate with Supervisors, Dispatch, and Team Leads
  • Perform lone worker check-ins and track time accurately
  • Attend court as required
  • Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards
  • Secure all equipment and documentation
  • Operate a marked enforcement vehicle
  • Respond to residential parking complaints
  • Submit tow requests per SOP
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and fuel levels
  • Follow Alberta traffic laws at all times
