The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation, is recruiting for a Park Technician 1 in Delta Junction. This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Park Technician 1 manages daily park and facility operations within the park's areas of responsibility, including the trail systems, trailheads, campgrounds, public-use cabins, picnic pavilions, outhouses, docks, fishing platforms, fee stations, and more. Position is responsible for training and direction of Alaska Conservation Corps employees and volunteers who clean and maintain campgrounds, cabins, outhouses, trails, and other related facilities. Position assists with all facets of park operations, including maintenance, public safety, recreation, and resource management. The Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation provides outdoor recreation opportunities and conserves and interprets natural, cultural, and historic resources for the use, enjoyment, and welfare of the people. This position is critical to the fulfillment of that mission, as it is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of park facilities and infrastructure, as well as the supervision and coordination of seasonal staff throughout the region. These are major components of field operations that help ensure that park units managed by the Division remain clean, safe, and well-maintained for the visiting public.
