About The Position

This position is for an Administrative Assistant in the reservation’s office at AMHS in Juneau. The role involves managing customer satisfaction, handling booking inquiries, and ticketing tasks. The Administrative Assistants are the backbone of the Ferry System, ensuring passengers are taken care of and excited for a trip on the ferry. This position requires the practice of independent judgment when making AMHS reservations for the public, excellent customer service skills, vision of teamwork, and superb judgment skills. The role is an integral part of a local community in the Great State of Alaska, working with the DOT&PF and AMHS Central Office to facilitate travel and provide a cohesive Marine Transportation system for its members, Alaskans, and its frequent visitors.

Requirements

  • Six months of advanced clerical experience (e.g., Office Assistant 2, Accounting Clerk, or equivalent)
  • OR Six months of any combination of post-secondary education, vocational education, and/or advanced-level clerical experience.
