About The Position
PreEminent Charter School in Raleigh, North Carolina, is hiring a Paraprofessional to support students in grades K–8. This position is scheduled for 35 hours per week. The paraprofessional provides academic intervention through individual or group instruction under the direction of classroom teachers and designated instructional leaders, and supports students’ academic, moral, and social development. The role also involves implementing curriculum intended to promote student growth and attending professional development and articulation meetings with teachers and parents as required.
Requirements
- Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
- Knowledge of and ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
- Understanding of and ability to navigate technical systems.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in a school or with school-age children is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess student abilities and provide instructional assistance to students needing academic intervention through one-to-one instruction or group workshops, as directed by the classroom teacher and designated instructional leader.
- Support the whole student academically, morally, and socially.
- Implement results-driven curriculum to achieve significant growth from fall to spring testing.
- Attend professional development and articulation meetings with classroom teachers and parents as required.
