About The Position

Inspire Charter Academy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is hiring a Paraprofessional for a position scheduled for 35 hours per week. The academy serves students in grades K–8 and emphasizes academic achievement, creative and critical thinking, character development, and preparing students for future challenges. The paraprofessional provides instructional assistance to students who need academic intervention, working individually or in groups as directed by the classroom teacher and designated instructional leader. The role also involves supporting students’ academic, moral, and social development, helping implement the curriculum, and attending professional development and meetings with teachers and parents as required. The academy describes itself as a high-performing school with a supportive, collaborative team, a fully paced curriculum, monthly professional development, weekly coaching for staff, and on-the-spot coaching for teachers. Previous experience in a school or with school-age children is preferred.

Requirements

Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
Knowledge of and ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
Understanding of and capability to navigate technical systems.

Responsibilities

Assess student abilities and provide instructional assistance to students needing academic intervention through one-to-one or group workshops, as directed by the classroom teacher and designated instructional leader.
Commit to educating the whole student academically, morally, and socially.
Implement the result-driven curriculum to achieve significant growth from fall to spring testing.
Attend professional development and articulation meetings with classroom teachers and parents as required.
