Paraprofessional at Inspire Charter Academy
About The Position
The Paraprofessional supports students at Inspire Charter Academy, a K–8 school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The role provides instructional assistance to students who need academic intervention, working one-on-one or in groups as directed by the classroom teacher and designated instructional leader. The position is scheduled for 35 hours per week. The paraprofessional helps educate the whole student—academically, morally, and socially—and implements the curriculum to support student growth. The role also includes attending professional development and articulation meetings with classroom teachers and parents as required.
Requirements
- Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
- Knowledge of and ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
- Understanding of and capability to navigate technical systems.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in a school or with school-age children is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess student abilities and provide instructional assistance to students needing academic intervention through one-on-one support or group workshops, as directed by the classroom teacher and designated instructional leader.
- Commit to educating the whole student academically, morally, and socially.
- Implement the result-driven curriculum to achieve significant growth from fall to spring testing.
- Attend professional development and articulation meetings with classroom teachers and parents as required.
