Paraprofessional at PreEminent Charter School
About The Position
PreEminent Charter School is seeking a paraprofessional for a position scheduled for 35 hours per week. The school is located in Raleigh, North Carolina, opened in 2000, and serves students in grades K–8. The paraprofessional provides instructional assistance to students who need academic intervention and supports students’ academic, moral, and social development. Work is directed by the classroom teacher and designated instructional leader. The school describes its environment as close-knit and family-oriented, with support from Deans and an Instructional Coach, opportunities for growth and mentorship, teamwork and collaboration, and a commitment to a safe learning environment.
Requirements
- Meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
- Have knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
- Understand and be able to navigate technical systems.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in a school or with school-age children.
Responsibilities
- Assess student abilities and provide instructional assistance to students needing academic intervention through one-to-one support or group workshops, as directed by the classroom teacher and designated instructional leader.
- Commit to educating the whole student academically, morally, and socially.
- Implement a results-driven curriculum intended to achieve significant growth from fall to spring testing.
- Attend professional development and articulation meetings with classroom teachers and parents as required.
