About The Position

Under the direction of the assigned administrator and the general supervision of a teacher and/or other certificated employee, the Paraprofessional II provides instructional and behavioral support to students as they work toward learning objectives. The role works with students of all ages who have severe behavioral, physical, language, or learning handicaps and performs other related duties as assigned. The position is at French Camp School and is scheduled for six hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch. Full benefits (medical, dental, and vision) are offered, or cash compensation may be available in lieu of benefit enrollment with proof of verified current coverage.

Requirements

High school diploma accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education, or equivalent.
Meet one of the following education/proficiency qualifications: 48 semester units, an associate degree or higher, or pass proficiency requirements established by the District.
Submit a resume, one signed letter of recommendation, and proof of an AA or BA degree from a regionally accredited college, 48 semester units, or a certificate showing successful completion of a basic paraprofessional proficiency test.
Candidates submitting college degrees or transcripts from outside the United States must attach a certified evaluation verifying equivalency.
If selected, provide proof of high school completion or an equivalent program.
If hired, obtain TB clearance and complete fingerprinting at the employee's cost.

Responsibilities

Provide instructional and behavioral support to students in accomplishing learning objectives.
Work with students of all ages with severe behavioral, physical, language, or learning handicaps.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
