About The Position

Under the direction of the assigned administrator and under the general supervision of a teacher and/or other certificated employee, the Paraprofessional II provides instructional and behavioral support to students as they work toward learning objectives. The role works with students of all ages with severe behavioral, physical, language, or learning handicaps and performs other related duties as assigned.

The position is at Brock Elliott School and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a half-hour lunch. Applicants must provide a resume, one signed letter of recommendation, and proof of the required education or paraprofessional proficiency test. If hired, the employee must obtain TB clearance and complete fingerprinting at their own cost. Preference will be given to internal candidates.

Requirements

• High school diploma from an institution accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education, or equivalent.
• Forty-eight semester units, an associate degree or higher, or passing the proficiency requirements established by the District.
• Submit a resume and one signed letter of recommendation.
• Submit proof of an associate or bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college, 48 semester units, or a certificate of successful completion of a basic paraprofessional proficiency test.
• If submitting college degrees or transcripts from outside the United States, provide a certified evaluation verifying equivalency.
• If hired, obtain TB clearance and complete fingerprinting at the employee's cost.
