Paraprofessional II (SDC) - Joseph Widmer School, 5 hrs./day
About The Position
Under the direction of the assigned administrator and the general supervision of a teacher and/or other certificated employee, the Paraprofessional II provides instructional and behavioral support to students as they work toward learning objectives. The role works with students of all ages who have severe behavioral, physical, language, or learning handicaps and performs other related duties as assigned. The position is at Joseph Widmer School and is listed as five hours per day. The available schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch. One or more openings may be available. Preference will be given to internal candidates.
Requirements
- High school diploma accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education, or equivalent.
- Meet one of the following: 48 semester units, an associate degree or higher, or proficiency requirements established by the District.
- Submit a resume, one signed letter of recommendation, and proof of an associate or bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college, 48 semester units, or successful completion of a basic paraprofessional proficiency test.
- Candidates submitting degrees or transcripts from outside the United States must attach a certified evaluation verifying equivalency.
- If hired, obtain TB clearance and complete fingerprinting at the employee's cost.
- If selected, provide proof of high school completion or equivalent.
