About The Position

Under the direction of the assigned administrator and under the general supervision of a teacher and/or other certificated employee, the Paraprofessional II provides instructional and behavioral support to students to help them accomplish learning objectives. The position works with students of all ages who have severe behavioral, physical, language, or learning handicaps and performs other related duties as assigned. The position is at Shasta School and is scheduled for six hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., with a half-hour lunch. The posting offers medical, dental, and vision benefits, or cash compensation in lieu of benefit enrollment when the employee provides proof of verified current coverage.

Requirements

High school diploma accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education, or equivalent.
Forty-eight semester units, an associate degree or higher, or passing the proficiency requirements established by the District.
Submit a resume, one signed letter of recommendation, and proof of an associate or bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college, 48 semester units, or a certificate showing successful completion of a basic paraprofessional proficiency test.
If submitting college degrees or transcripts from outside the United States, provide a certified evaluation verifying equivalency.
If selected, provide proof of completion of high school or an equivalent program.
TB clearance and fingerprinting are required before employment, at the employee's cost if hired.
