About The Position

Under the direction of the assigned administrator and the general supervision of a teacher and/or other certificated employee, the Paraprofessional II provides instructional and behavioral support to students as they work toward learning objectives. The role works with students of all ages who have severe behavioral, physical, language, or learning handicaps and performs other related duties as assigned.

The position is at Weston Ranch High School, scheduled for 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch. The posting offers full benefits (medical, dental, and vision) or cash compensation instead of benefit enrollment for employees who provide proof of verified current coverage. One or more openings are available; preference will be given to internal candidates.

Requirements

• High school diploma from an institution accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education, or equivalent.
• Meet one of the following education/proficiency criteria: 48 semester units, an associate degree or higher, or pass proficiency requirements established by the District.
• Submit a resume and one signed letter of recommendation with the application.
• Provide proof of an associate or bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college, 48 semester units, or a certificate showing successful completion of a basic Paraprofessional proficiency test.
• If submitting college degrees or transcripts from outside the United States, attach a certified evaluation verifying equivalency.
• If selected, provide proof of completion of high school or an equivalent program.
• Complete TB clearance and fingerprinting if hired; these are at the employee's cost.
