About The Position

Under the direction of the assigned administrator and the general supervision of a teacher and/or other certificated employee, the Paraprofessional I provides instructional and behavioral support to students as they work toward learning objectives. The role works with students of all ages who have severe behavioral, physical, language, or learning handicaps and performs other related duties as assigned. The position is at Yosemite Community Day School, with a listed schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including a half-hour lunch.

Requirements

• High school diploma accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education, or equivalent.
• Forty-eight semester units, an associate degree or higher, or passing the proficiency requirements established by the District.
• Submit a resume, one signed letter of recommendation, and proof of an associate or bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college, 48 semester units, or a certificate showing successful completion of a basic paraprofessional proficiency test.
• Candidates submitting college degrees or transcripts from outside the United States must provide a certified evaluation verifying equivalency.
• Provide proof of completion of high school or an equivalent program if selected.
• TB clearance and fingerprinting are required before employment, at the employee's cost if hired.
