Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Proficient in English; ability to read, write, and speak in English.
Current Florida EMT-P Licensure/Certification is required.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
Must have and maintained a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic policy.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a Paramedic preferred.
PALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Current PHTLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide initial medical contact in the triage area of the Emergency Department.
Maintain a safe environment and provide compassionate care to patients and family members.
Collect blood samples and/or obtain IV access at the request of the triage RN or the ED team leader.
Provide initial medical services including basic airway management, spinal stabilization, and transportation to ill or injured persons if requested through a code 250 or code blue activation under the supervision of the ED Medical Director.
