This position is open only to current employees of the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Applicants must serve and pass their six-month probation period in their current position in order to be eligible to apply. The Paralegal I will provide administrative support to the District Court deputies working in Redmond. This role involves assisting prosecutors in all phases of trial preparation, preparing and processing legal documents, managing calendars, generating and processing witness letters and subpoenas, and serving as a liaison between victims and deputy prosecuting attorneys (DPAs). The position also requires communication with various legal professionals, law enforcement, witnesses, and victims, as well as coordinating witness schedules, explaining legal procedures, and arranging travel. Additionally, the Paralegal I will be responsible for creating and maintaining records for Motions to Vacate, answering phones, responding to emails, and assisting supervisors. Active participation in the Prosecuting Attorney's Office (PAO) equity work, including attending trainings and discussions, and supporting Race, Equity, and Social Justice policies are also requisite. Additional responsibilities may be incorporated or modified as business needs evolve.
