The Lathrop–Manteca Fire District is currently recruiting to fill one vacancy for the position of Fire Engineer. This recruitment will establish an eligibility list that may be used to fill current and future vacancies over the next 24 months, with a possible extension for an additional year. The District is seeking motivated, customer-focused individuals committed to excellence, collaboration, and public service, possessing a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and dedication to teamwork. The Lathrop–Manteca Fire Protection District is dedicated to protecting life, property, and the environment, serving approximately 46,000 residents from five fire stations. The District provides a comprehensive range of emergency response and public safety services, responding to over 4,200 calls for service annually. The position of Fire Engineer is complex and requires a progressive and motivated individual capable of maintaining cooperative relations with colleagues, supervisors, and the public. The rigors of emergency duties require an individual to be in top physical condition. The Fire Engineer will respond to alarms, participate in fire prevention and public education, and assist in station and apparatus maintenance.
