About The Position

Working with students to develop their independent skills within the mainstream classrooms, resource rooms, non-academic times, and other duties, as assigned. The successful candidate will: Promote 21st century educational excellence through the vigorous support of the mission and goals of The Woodstock Academy; and Facilitate individual, departmental, and school excellence through the support of high-quality personnel, reinforcement of best instructional practices, encouragement of a culture of collaboration, and a focus on student learning.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or successful results of para-professional test is required.
  • Enjoy working with adolescents.
  • Prior background in working in educational settings and/or willingness to train in support of meeting specialized student needs.
  • Academic skills to work within core academic areas. Emphasis on Math or English.
  • Ability to work well, coordinate and participate with faculty, staff, students, and administration.
  • Certification to drive school vehicle or willingness to become certified.
  • Must have valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Strong professional ethics and boundaries.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated excellence in human relations.
  • Any combination of experience, training, aptitude, or education which provides the required skills, abilities, and professional maturity.
  • Applicant must pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Any other additional educational and/or athletic related certifications or licensing preferred, specifically ABA and/or evidence-based reading/math intervention programs.
  • Positive attitude, integrity, collaboration skills, cooperative attitude, and a sense of humor essential.
