About The Position

National Convenience Distributors is seeking Equipment Operators for its Chicopee, Massachusetts location. The role is suited to candidates with experience operating Hilo stand-up reach trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks in a warehouse or distribution environment. Operators move palletized goods throughout the warehouse, load and unload goods, and place items in storage bays according to inventory-control instructions. Requirements

Experience operating warehouse equipment is required.
Ability to operate a Hilo stand-up reach truck, forklift, and pallet jack.
Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Good math, language, and reading skills.
Basic computer skills may be required.
Ability to follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
Ability to work efficiently and safely, with a high degree of attention to prevent injury and promote workplace safety.
Ability to stand regularly on a powered industrial truck and stand for long periods.
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and bend, stoop, walk, turn, and pivot.
Good balance, eye-hand-foot coordination, and depth perception.
Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights.
Ability to work in varying temperatures depending on the season.

Nice To Haves

Previous work experience within the last two years is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Load and unload goods.
Move palletized goods around the warehouse.
Stack goods in the correct storage bays according to inventory-control instructions.
Check that loads are secure.
Stack empty pallets.
Perform daily equipment checks, including recharging truck batteries and lubricating equipment.
Remove machine attachments and waste material from machines.
Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
Follow equipment operating instructions and keep records.
Complete assignments accurately, promptly, and safely.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
