About The Position

Ajinomoto Foods North America is a frozen foods company focused on nutritious and delicious meals. The Electric Pallet Jack Operator joins the team in the Portland area and operates an electric pallet jack (EPJ), packs bagged product into boxes, and/or stacks cases onto pallets in a refrigerated environment. The role includes inspecting and monitoring equipment and product and communicating problems to the Lead.

Schedules are typically Monday through Friday, starting at 4:15 p.m., with 8–10-hour shifts and occasional Saturdays. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour plus a $0.50 shift differential.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic knowledge of simple math skills.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure bags and boxes are properly coded and sealed before packing them into cases or onto pallets.
• Ensure finished cases are properly stacked and placed on pallets.
• Understand different case packs and product weight ranges.
• Understand Company quality standards for product defects and immediately report excessive defects.
• Monitor packing equipment to ensure it is working correctly.
• Communicate with co-workers at shift change about situations that have or may affect production operations.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
• Perform work in accordance with Company quality standards and governmental regulatory standards.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.
• Practice 5S and clean as you go.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
