About The Position

Mountain Pro is seeking future Painting Estimators for residential and commercial projects in the Breckenridge, CO area. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong understanding of painting and construction, excellent client communication skills, and a preference for field work. The Painting Estimator will be responsible for walking projects, conducting accurate takeoffs, preparing clear proposals, and building client confidence. The position involves significant time in the field assessing project conditions, understanding preparation requirements, evaluating coatings and substrates, and communicating effectively with clients, contractors, and the internal team. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical estimating expertise, strong interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple opportunities concurrently.

Requirements

  • Experience estimating painting or construction work
  • Knowledge of coatings, prep methods, substrates, and job scoping
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly
  • Strong organization, self-direction, and follow-through
  • Comfort managing multiple projects, estimates, and client conversations
  • Based in Summit County or planning to relocate to the area

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with estimating tools such as STACK or PEP Cloud preferred, or willingness to learn quickly
  • Interest in the mountain lifestyle; skiing, hiking, riding, or simply enjoying the outdoors is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Walk high-end residential and commercial painting projects in the field
  • Build accurate, detailed takeoffs and scopes of work
  • Prepare clear proposals for clients, homeowners, contractors, and property managers
  • Evaluate coatings, prep needs, substrates, access, and project requirements
  • Communicate confidently with clients and help build trust throughout the estimating process
  • Coordinate with internal team members to support smooth project handoff
  • Manage multiple estimates, follow-ups, and client conversations at one time
  • Use estimating tools such as STACK, PEP Cloud, or similar platforms
  • Help support a professional, detail-focused, client-centered estimating process
