About The Position

TEAM Group is seeking a Paint Shop Supervisor to support operations at our GM Lake Orion facility. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Paint Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily cleaning operations within the paint shop, ensuring a safe work environment, maintaining operational efficiency, and leading a high-performing team. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement while delivering exceptional service to our customer.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or paint shop environment.
  • Experience with industrial cleaning operations and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of safety programs, including confined space entry and lockout/tagout.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexible schedule to support customer production requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting automotive paint shop operations.
  • Knowledge of paint sludge management and spray booth systems.
  • Experience with foreign material analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily paint shop cleaning operations, including spray booths and surrounding production areas.
  • Coordinate cleaning activities with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor spray booth systems, booth water management, and robot cover installation.
  • Ensure proper protection of equipment and adjacent production areas during cleaning activities.
  • Support waste handling processes, including paint sludge removal and baler operations.
  • Enforce all company safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with confined space entry, lockout/tagout, and other regulatory programs.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and quality checks.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste materials in accordance with company, state, and federal regulations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of up to 15 employees.
  • Assign daily work and manage staffing priorities.
  • Conduct performance coaching, training, and employee development activities.
  • Support onboarding and cross-training initiatives to build workforce flexibility.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies in safe working condition.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate supply ordering.
  • Ensure materials are available to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management.
  • Communicate effectively with customer representatives regarding service delivery, performance, and operational needs.
  • Support achievement of customer KPIs related to safety, quality, and productivity.
