About The Position

The Paint Supervisor reports directly to the Plant Manager and collaborates with the production team to achieve customer and company objectives related to safety, productivity, and quality. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing team performance, and contributing to process improvements within the paint and shipping departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily toolbox talks and enforce safety protocols in paint, shipping, and receiving areas.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other safety standards.
  • Manage housekeeping and maintenance scheduling for paint booths and other areas.
  • Manage the Ready to Ship (RTS) file and update the backlog daily.
  • Report on production in Scan Worx & D365 and update the Production Board.
  • Complete Efficiency Charts daily to track team goals.
  • Add shipping loads in D365 a week in advance and ensure all loads are RTS before truck arrival.
  • Organize daily loads for revenue and outgoing shipments.
  • Ensure all daily loads have a BOL printed, signed, dated by a driver, and scanned into accounting.
  • File BOLs by date for audit purposes.
  • Enter VOC logs into EHS spreadsheets daily.
  • Manage Credit Holds (CH) and communicate with Sales regarding Ready Shipments.
  • Schedule special carries and/or Customer Pick-ups (CPU), adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Adjust shipments based on truck capacity, LTL, and TL requirements.
  • Understand load requirements for each load, including height, weight, and lengths per state/city.
  • Oversee the shipping and painting staff, providing guidance and training.
  • Ensure all required tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Hold the team accountable for accurate completion of logs, spreadsheets, and checklists.
  • Maintain knowledge of all paint and shipping needs and seek resources for task understanding.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies.
  • Document paint and containers weekly or as needed for inventory management.
  • Communicate with the plant ICS & Purchasing to manage inventory needs.
  • Order expense items as needed.
  • Support Shipping Specialist in ensuring products are packed and shipped according to WQ quality standards.
  • Ensure painted products meet or exceed WQ quality standards.
  • Address issues related to damaged or incorrect shipments.
  • Enforce that all Serial Checklists and Audits are being performed.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficiency measures.
  • Optimize shipping processes to reduce costs and enhance performance.
