Mindrift is conducting an in-person research study on how people communicate and interact in everyday group conversations. Adults in the Santa Clara Valley (South Bay), California, area are invited to participate in a paid, guided conversation session. Participants from all backgrounds, with different accents and first languages, are welcome; no special experience is needed. Participants check in with an on-site coordinator and join a group of 2–4 people for a conversation led by a trained moderator. Discussion topics are everyday and non-sensitive, such as planning a birthday celebration or making everyday decisions. The session lasts about 90 minutes and is recorded on video and audio for research purposes. Participation is voluntary and covered by a signed consent form explaining the study and how recordings are used and stored. Participants may ask questions or withdraw. Eligible applicants register on Mindrift and complete a short screening questionnaire. Those who meet the requirements are invited to book a session. The study pays $110 after completion; travel costs are not covered. Sessions take place in person on weekdays from November 2026 through March 2027.
