Mindrift is conducting an in-person research study about how people communicate and interact in everyday group conversations. Adults in the Santa Clara Valley (South Bay), California, area are invited to participate in one paid, guided conversation session. Participants check in with an on-site coordinator and join a group of 2–4 people for a conversation led by a trained moderator. Topics are everyday and non-sensitive, such as planning a birthday celebration or making everyday decisions. The approximately 90-minute session is recorded on video and audio for research purposes. Participation is voluntary and subject to a signed consent form explaining the study and the use and storage of recordings; participants may ask questions or withdraw. Eligible applicants register on Mindrift and complete a short screening questionnaire, then may be invited to book a session. Sessions take place on weekdays between November 2026 and March 2027. Participants receive $110 after completing the session; travel costs are not covered.
