Mindrift is conducting an in-person research study about how people communicate and interact in everyday group conversations. Adults in the Santa Clara Valley (South Bay) area are invited to join a paid, guided conversation session. No special experience is needed, and people from all backgrounds, with different accents and first languages, are welcome. Participants check in with an on-site coordinator and join a small group of 2–4 people for a conversation led by a trained moderator. Topics are everyday and non-sensitive, such as planning a birthday celebration or making everyday decisions. The approximately 90-minute session is recorded on video and audio for research purposes. Participation is voluntary and covered by a signed consent form that explains what is involved and how recordings are used and stored. Participants may ask questions or withdraw. Eligible participants register on Mindrift and complete a short screening questionnaire; those who qualify are invited to book a session. Sessions take place on weekdays between November 2026 and March 2027. Compensation is $110 for completing one session, paid through Mindrift. Travel costs are not covered.
