About The Position

Insomniac is seeking a motivated self-starter with a passion for dance music and public relations to join their team as a Paid Fall Public Relations Intern. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional writing skills who thrives in dynamic environments. Insomniac is a leading producer of innovative music festivals and events worldwide, known for immersive experiences, advanced technology, and a focus on the fan experience. The company produces numerous events annually across the globe and is based in Los Angeles.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age and currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school.
  • Previous internship or work experience in public relations and communications is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using Google Drive is highly valued.
  • Must be able to work out of Calabasas, CA office at least 2-3 days a week for 6+ hours per day.
  • Typical commitment is 18-29 hours per week.
  • Must have deep understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok).
  • Must be motivated with an “Everything is possible” attitude.
  • Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small.
  • Knowledge of dance music and Insomniac’s brands.
  • Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization, which does not require sponsorship by Insomniac for a visa.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidates will be studying Public Relations/Communications, English, and/or entertainment-industry majors, preferably in at least their junior year of college.

Responsibilities

  • Draft press releases, media pitches, and other written materials.
  • Assist in media relations efforts, including compiling media lists and crafting talking points.
  • Monitor Insomniac press coverage and compile a daily coverage report.
  • Participate in department meetings and conference calls.
  • Monitor and respond to emails received at [email protected].
  • Manage media requests sent to [email protected] for club shows and festivals.
  • Manage and maintain the press.insomniac.com site with current festival information.
  • Assist in media request approvals and denials for all club shows and festivals.
  • Coordinate with external agencies on tasks such as fact-checking and providing media assets.
  • Pull photo selects following concerts and branded shows.
  • Gather and provide data for internal research projects and pitch decks.
  • Project-manage various other short-term assignments.
  • Perform any other press-related duties as requested.
