About The Position

This position is for a college communications or public relations major interested in gaining practical experience in a professional setting. The intern will assist with the development of communications and public relations material, contribute to digital publications, social media, and white papers, support database management, and assist with multimedia creation.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university with achievement of sophomore, junior or senior status.
• Demonstrated skills in marketing, public relations and/or communications.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of personal computers and applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• A good working knowledge of graphic design applications would be desirable (such as Adobe programs, Animaker, Canva, PowerPoint, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of communications and public relations material for AMP programs and events.
• Contribute to the preparation and distribution of AMP and OMEA digital publications, social media and white papers.
• Support the management and maintenance of communications databases and lists.
• Assist with the creation of multimedia communications, including video and still photography.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
