About The Position

Komplex Care is hiring a Paediatric Care Assistant to provide specialist, nurse-led care for a child with complex clinical needs at home and while they are at school. The role involves working three to four day shifts each week, with night shifts also available. The child requires support with ventilation, tracheostomy care and moving, as well as help to take part safely in activities they enjoy, including football, playing Xbox, building with Lego and going into the community.

The assistant will work within a dedicated, nurse-led team, follow detailed clinical care plans, monitor the child’s condition and carry out specialist interventions to help keep them safe, stable and comfortable. Komplex Care provides individualised clinical training, nurse-led oversight and support from the wider Komplex Group. This is specialist complex care, not standard domiciliary care.

Requirements

• A full UK driving licence.
• Experience in care or confidence undertaking clinical training.
• Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Ability to follow detailed clinical protocols consistently.
• Basic IT skills for communication and record-keeping.
• A genuine commitment to safe, person-centred care.
• Compassion, dependability, attentiveness, and the ability to remain calm and act correctly under pressure.
• Must already have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, medication and clinical interventions.
• Manage tracheostomies, ventilation and specialist equipment.
• Support the child with moving and help them safely enjoy activities and community outings.
• Monitor clinical observations and recognise signs of deterioration.
• Follow detailed clinical care plans and protocols consistently.
• Maintain accurate records and escalate concerns immediately.
