About The Position

The Packing Operator is responsible for packaging, loading, warehousing, and bulk shipments of finished products safely and in an environmentally sensitive manner, following applicable ESHQ standards. The role also requires adherence to GMP and food safety procedures and controls at the Chester site.

The position operates packaging and loading equipment and industrial lift trucks, moves railcars with a mechanized railcar mover, and performs work at heights using fall protection equipment. Duties include minor equipment maintenance, scheduled upkeep, area cleaning, inventory management, and support for other operational duties as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Satisfactory completion of all defined self-study and process-specific training requirements for the Packaging Operator classification.
• Satisfactory completion of on-the-job training requirements.
• Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality Systems training (ISO9000/14001), GMP, and Responsible Care training.

Responsibilities

• Package finished products into bags and bulk containers using semi-automated equipment.
• Operate industrial lift trucks to transport and load finished products.
• Position and move railcars using a mechanized railcar mover.
• Perform work at heights, including silo measurements and loading railcars and bulk trucks while using fall protection equipment.
• Operate and support chemical processing equipment, including potential Utility Technician duties with filter presses.
• Conduct minor maintenance on packaging and loading equipment.
• Secure and brace railcars and trucks for safe transportation.
• Replace baghouse filters and perform scheduled equipment upkeep.
• Clean and maintain packaging, bulk loading, and production areas to ensure safe operations.
• Manage packaging inventory and operate automated palletizing and stretch-wrapping systems and inkjet printers.
• Support other operational duties as needed.
• Follow applicable ESHQ standards and the GMP and food safety procedures and controls implemented at the Chester site.
