About The Position

Gordon Food Service is hiring a Package Handler for its Warehouse Distribution Center in Springfield, Ohio. The role supports order processing and delivery to customers. No prior experience is required, and a dedicated training team provides job training. Selecting work is physically demanding, with pay that scales based on production and efficiency. The position is scheduled Sunday through Thursday, with Fridays and Saturdays off. The start time is 7:30 a.m., and shifts end when work is finished; daily shift length varies with work volume. The work involves being on your feet for 10 hours, lifting up to 100 pounds, and working in a freezer and in extreme cold or hot conditions. Applicants must be at least 18, able to communicate in English, and able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. Prior warehouse experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Must be able to work in extreme cold or hot conditions, including in a freezer.
Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Must be able to stand for 10 hours and lift up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

Select and handle warehouse products to support seamless order processing and delivery to customers.
Read labels, pick lists, scanner information, signage, company website information related to benefits and updates, and paperwork; follow verbal instructions.
