About The Position

Gordon Food Service is hiring a first-shift Package Handler for its warehouse at 4980 Gateway Blvd. in Springfield, Ohio. The role supports order processing and delivery to customers by selecting and handling products in an automated distribution center. No prior warehouse experience is required; a dedicated training team provides training. Starting pay is $20.90 per hour, with pay that scales with production and efficiency and two pay raises in the first year. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with Fridays and Saturdays off. The shift begins at 7:30 a.m. and runs until work is finished; daily shift lengths vary with work volume. The work involves being on your feet for 10 hours, lifting up to 100 pounds, and working in a freezer and other extreme cold or hot conditions. Employees must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English to understand labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits and updates, paperwork, and verbal instructions.
Must be able to work in extreme cold or hot conditions.
Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check.
Must be able to stand for 10 hours and lift up to 100 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Prior warehouse experience is preferred, but not required.
