About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Its core business is standard, next-day ground delivery, and it serves the Midwest. The Part-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and promptly to support quick delivery. Available shifts start Monday through Friday at either 7:30 a.m. or 4:00 p.m. The stated pay range is $19.00–$24.25 per hour, based on experience; starting pay is determined by relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity, with compensation increases based on company policies, performance, and individual development. The posting lists the position status as full-time and its FLSA status as nonexempt.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Have excellent verbal communication skills.
Have efficient time-management skills.
Have excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Be able to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Be able to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Be able to work with freight including hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Pass a criminal background check.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by ZIP code, city, or state.
Stack freight in trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
