SEASONAL PACKAGE HANDLER
About The Position
GLS US is seeking seasonal package handlers to support parcel delivery operations. Package handlers are front-line employees who sort packages and ensure they are assigned to the correct routes so deliveries can meet their timelines. They work as part of a team to complete behind-the-scenes work safely and successfully in a fast-paced environment focused on safety and quality. The role involves scanning and sorting packages, loading and unloading trucks, and operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Employees must follow warehouse safety rules, maintain a clean and organized work area, and perform other duties as assigned. The work environment may be wet or humid, loud, and exposed to fumes, airborne particles, extreme heat, vibrations, and outdoor weather conditions. Prolonged standing and regular lifting are required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
- Must be willing to follow instructions and accept supervision.
- Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and cooperate with co-workers and supervisors.
- Must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and regularly lift packages, including items weighing more than 50 pounds.
