About The Position

Valeo is a global technology company and automotive supplier that develops mobility solutions focused on intuitive driving and reducing CO2 emissions. The P1 Program Manager operationally and functionally manages assigned projects and OEM/OES projects, with responsibility for project performance, resources, budgets, customer relationships, and compliance with Valeo standards.

The role coordinates project teams and associated P1/P2 projects, manages project changes and escalations, and supports decision-making and governance processes. The Program Manager communicates project progress to customers and internal stakeholders, promotes Valeo’s values and standards, and ensures project development complies with health, safety, environmental, and ethical requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; an engineering field is preferred, but another degree field may be considered.
• At least 5 years of product development experience and process knowledge in automotive components.
• Management experience, including functional and/or hierarchical organizational experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with automotive lighting, plastic injection-molded parts, electronics, or optics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned projects operationally and functionally, including OEM/OES projects.
• Achieve project KPIs for profitability, quality, and production preparation.
• Secure and control project resources.
• Drive associated P2 actors when P2 activities are not completed in P1.
• Resolve project issues by securing support from relevant functions through project escalation.
• Check and validate Project Team Members’ activities and propose timing scenarios to achieve milestones.
• Conduct concept competitions to obtain customer orders when applicable.
• Define and manage budgets, including budgets for projects within a designated Project/System.
• Define project scope.
• Prepare decision-making processes for relevant committees and challenge project-team readiness.
• Prepare and submit CAA and IAR, and challenge P1 Project Managers or Launch Managers on projects within the designated Project/System.
• Manage project changes and coordinate them through the team.
• Apply Design to Cost methodology.
• Escalate gaps against targets at the appropriate level and with appropriate speed and anticipation.
• Lead AAI and development of the team’s PTMs.
• Functionally manage PTMs, set project objectives, and ensure appraisals for Project Team Members.
• Manage customer communications about project development progress and keep clients updated.
• Prepare or validate project progress reports for PSC, PMC, and governance stages when required.
• Manage customer relationships and coordinate communications within the team and with associated P2/P1 projects.
• Ensure appropriate management of escalations.
• Promote Valeo values, culture, and standards within System/Project teams and oversee their application.
• Respect Valeo’s Code of Ethics and health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Ensure project development complies with Valeo standards.
