P&D Driver
About The Position
As a P&D Driver, you pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally and serve as a regular point of contact for Southeastern Freight Lines customers. The role involves operating a tractor-trailer in various conditions and carrying out vehicle operations, including coupling and uncoupling, connecting lines, and adjusting equipment. Drivers inspect vehicles, manage cargo loading and unloading, and ensure transport documents are accurate and compliant, particularly for hazardous materials. The position requires skilled maneuvering in heavy traffic and tight spaces, reporting incidents or delays, and following safety regulations and company policies while providing professional customer service. Pay is $94,731–$103,332 annually. Average annual pay may vary based on experience, hours, and location. The position is listed as First Shift.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of driving experience; 1 year is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailers endorsements, with no automatic restrictions.
- At least 21 years old.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English; perform simple mathematical calculations; handle receipts; read maps and road signs; and maintain driving logs.
- Detailed knowledge of and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines, including requirements for safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and hazardous-material transportation.
- Meet DOT physical qualifications.
- Pass alcohol and drug tests.
